I needed one thing respectable to have in my pc bag when i wasn't lugging round all my SLRs and Lenses. This camera appears to be the best mix SLR and Point and shoot. The f/2.8 lens enable me to take nice, non-flash photos in low-light scenarios without an obscene quantity of noise. It has a actually perfect, strong build and with a tight amount of weight, it doesn't really feel like it will crumble at any minute like your point-and-shoot. I would say if you're out there for something more evolved than some degree and shoot, but good and small, pick it up.
Also, I believe this is the smallest software so as to take 720p video at f/2.8 (m4/3) with stereo audio. Great video device in the adventure you question me.

This camera has been an awfully great shock for me. The low light capability is phenomenal and as for framing footage in brilliant daylight I am very happy I received the optional optical viewfinder that matchs in the hotshoe. But the image sharpness and color quality are breathtaking. There is a learning curve on the menus however if you get used to it there are various in-camera scene varieties to idiot with, any suchs old school grainy black and white. Most importantly, it's ultra-portable and unobtrusive in a good-looking approach.

As a owner of a Canon DSLR, I feel both love and annoyance towards this camera. I sold this digicam principally for its portability, and it is good. I do adore its small size (with the 17 mm lens), and I can carry it all over the situation (which I won't do with my Canon). And I find it irresistibles look too.
I additionally in finding the menu easy to make use of. The tremendous keep watch over panel lets in one to keep watch over just about the complete lot needed in taking a photograph, and it's easy to access. There are also many attention-grabbing features now not existent in my Canon.
It does have its drawbacks. You would no longer predict the image quality as first rate as an APS-C or full-frame digital camera, and it's apparent, esp. in low-light photographs. There are more serious ones:
1) Slow center of attentioning. It is by no means related to a DSLR, but extra like some extent-and-shoot DC. The steady AF is even worse. At least the Fujifilm and Nikon DCs I used prior to didn't constantly refocus when the article didn't move. For single AF, the lens will transfer even when the object is full in focus. There are evaluations that the Panasonic micro 4 0.33s are a lot better on this aspect.
2) Slow processing speed. While there are attention-grabbing features (like the art filters), they're sluggish and eats plenty of battery energy. It makes them less useful.
3) Bad SD video. While I like the HD video results, SD simply sucks.
